Georgia’s Rural Center director, Dr. David Bridges, was inducted into the Georgia Agricultural Hall of Fame by the UGA College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences on March 21, 2025.
Whether you know Dr. Bridges or not, his impact on agriculture and rural communities has probably touched your life without you realizing it. From his days as a researcher to the administration at UGA, then serving the longest tenure of any college president in Georgia at ABAC, to his current role at the Rural Center, servant leadership and promoting agriculture and rural communities is at his core. There’s not a day that he doesn’t think, talk, and breathe about the industry that he has been involved in his whole life.
Congratulations, Dr. Bridges, on this well-deserved honor! We are extremely proud to have such an outstanding leader at the Rural Center and look forward to his legacy continuing in agriculture.

The Georgia Agriculture Hall of Fame was established by the CAES Alumni Association in 1972 to recognize individuals making unusual and extraordinary contributions to agriculture and agribusiness industries in Georgia. Inductees are first nominated and selected by a committee designated by the CAES Dean and the president of the CAES Alumni Association.
