By Loren Lindler

Have you ever heard the commercial that says, "Beef. It's what's for dinner." Well, it's Beef Month in Georgia, and we think beef should be on your menu every night. Whether you're grilling up a juicy steak or delicious hamburgers, beef is sure to put a smile on your face.

Did you know beef cattle are raised in all 159 counties in the state of Georgia? The state's beef industry has a pretty beefy impact. Beef cattle are primarily produced in:

  • Coffee County

  • Carroll County

  • Stephens County

  • Miller County

  • Grady County

  • Jackson County

  • Floyd County

  • Franklin County

  • Baker County

  • Madison County

According to the Georgia Cattlemen's Association, cattle producers steward over four million acres of land in Georgia with many producers engaged in other areas of agriculture. Georgia is home to 15,000 cattle producers and over one million head of cattle. In 2019, Georgia's farm gate value for the beef industry reached over 660 million dollars.
